About the Club
American companies have proven for years now
that Six Sigma - by means of a constant driving force - is
a Customer focused, extremely successful breakthrough method,
which in the meantime as got an important appreciation from
Wall Street analysts.
European companies will have to answer to this challenge
to become (or stay) successful on the Global Market.
European companies traditionally have a high quality level
and standard. So, they need not answer this challenge just
by copying it. They are challenged to change and integrate
the excellent method and extremely successful tools of Six
Sigma.
A Chinese proverb is appropriate here: "If the wind
of change is blowing, some people build walls, but other
people windmills".
In the European Six Sigma Club we say: Therefore in Europe
let us build windmills.

TAP Air Portugal and Six Sigma TAP Air Portugal is now implementing the Six
Sigma methodology in order to enhance the continuous improvement
and the Quality
from the Customer point of view. In a few words Six Sigma is
a practical and simple methodology oriented to process improvement
and to increase the Quality level.
The European Six Sigma Club is an association of Companies
with a common goal: improve the Quality and develop all the
resources to reach it.
ESSC wants to empower and increase the European Business
contribution to the World Economy, in order to increase the
continuous improvement of Quality in Europe by fostering
the Business & Service Organisations excellence.
TAP Air Portugal is an active member of the ESSC together
with other Companies that had previously sponsored the Six
Sigma European Annual Conference, this year will have the
honour of sponsoring it.
The next annual Conference will be held in Lisbon, Portugal
on the 13th, 14th and 15th of October 2004.
